Energy Certification is a requirement under the Directive 2002/91/EC transposed into Spanish law by Royal Decree 235/2013 of April 5, whereby the basic procedure for certifying the energy performance of buildings, both new construction and existing, is approved.
According to this Royal Decree, the presentation or made available to tenants of the Energy Performance Certificate shall be obligatory for contracts entered from June 1, 2013
