Templo de Debod, 2000 meters 20 minutes

Probably one of the most valuable treasures of Madrid, The Temple of Debod is a gift of Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser for Spanish participation in the Unesco campaign to save the sanctuaries in the region of Nubia threatened by the construction of the Asuan dam. The temple was founded in Lower Nubia, region crossed by the River Nile between Aswan in Egypt and Khartoum in Sudan, around 200 BC. The monument, which was ordered by King Kushite Adijalamani of Meroe, was dedicated to the god Amun of Debod, "father of the winds", and Isis at Philae, "goddess of motherhood." It was later embellished and renovated by the Pharaohs of the Ptolemaic dynasty. The Temple was divided in 1,356 blocks and brought to Madrid in 1972. The best moment to visit  it is at sunset and it is free.
